Outside I watch a funeral pass
Something inside me says to care
But my heart is closed
And my life is wasted
I look away form the window
And something catches my eye
I turn back to see a child walking
No tears in her eyes
In fact I may see a smile
She looks as if she doesn't care
Holding the hand of a woman
Who can't seem to slow her tears
A child so numb to the death
She must know what this means
She will never see that person again
Never hold them or love them
Or did she ever?
Suddenly I wake from this dream
It was me, I was that little girl
My father rotting in his grave
Do I care? No I want him there..
Was this when I became so cold?
I lost all feeling and nothing seems to bother me
I picture that little girl
A smile in her face
Did I even care?
